Can you check if %windir%\system32\vpc.exe is present or not2. I went there, and under Network Adapters there are two items (look in the screenshot below), which both have red X's on them. Assuming you find at least one (e.g., for your networking adapter) get the proper chipset and networking drivers from your Drivers CD or PC manufacturer's web site. Please check the name and try ag ain.

Windows Xp Will Not Connect To Internet So, if you have any ideas, I am all ears Also, SM Bus Controller should be included with the chipset drivers.You mean from my OEM drivers cd? None were detected so back to square one. I am understanding that I could try to uninstall the drivers & try running the disc again?
